Bio's & Lineage
Chang San Feng passed his knowledge on to Wang Zong, Chen Tong
Shou, Zhang Son Xi, Yeji Mei, Wang Zong Yue and Jiang Fa, who passed
the art to Chen Wang Ting, who taught Chen Chang Xin, Chen You Ben
and Chen Jing Ping. It was through the Chen Chang Xin lineage
that Yang Lu Chan acquired his skills. His son, Yang Jian,
taught Yang Chen Fu, who taught General Chan Yueng, who taught Sigung
John Oliver Peel.
Sigung John Oliver Peel
Sigung
John Oliver Peel - Founder of Temple Knights in 1982, Sigung John
Peel has been studying and researching many different styles of
martial arts including Hungar, Wing Chun, Tai Chi Chuan, Aikido,
Sword and Ninjitsu since the early 1960's. He is a second generation
student of Yang Chen Fu and a student of Master Ho Shu Ying. Inspired
by Bruce Lee, his style is enriched by the practice of the soft
internal styles and he has a deep understanding of Chi, movement,
combat strategy/tactics, the meditative mind and philosophy. Sigung
John Peel states, "It has been my pleasure to guide many seekers
into the path of spiritual enlightenment through the martial arts."
Sigung Peel teaches some private and group classes in Muskoka, Ontario
where he lives on his 170 acre retreat and he also travels
to many locations teaching insightful seminars and courses.
Seminar arrangements can be made throughout Canada, the U.S. and
Europe. Sigung John Peel is also the author of the resourceful book
"Tai Chi Journey." Sigung John Oliver Peel is also a producer,
writer, composer, director, actor, choreographer, painter, pilot,
bonsai master, co-founder of The National Martial Arts Theatre Company,
and has starred in several acclaimed martial arts instructional
videos/dvd's selling on the international market.
Sifu
Valerie Houston Peel
- draws her knowledge and insights from over 25 years of Tai Chi,
Chi Kung, Kung Fu, Meditation and spiritual study. She has her Black
Belt in Kung Fu and specializes in the Five Animals, Tai Chi Chuan,
Chi Kung, Meditation and Tai Chi Sword. Over the years, Sifu Valerie
has incorporated the Chinese Five Element Health System into her
practice, and teaches group and private classes, conducts corporate
Health & Wellness seminars and Women's Wellness Weekend retreats
through Temple Knights, which she co-owns with her husband Grand
Master John Oliver Peel. Sifu Valerie designs her programs to nourish
mind, body and spirit in accordance with the seasons and has seen
many transformations in the lives of those who make the time to
balance this essential connection. Valerie Houston Peel is also
a producer, director, and co-founder of The National Martial Arts
Theatre Company, and created the first Tai Chi exercise show on
television in the 1980's. Sifu Vlerie is also currently writing
a book on this topic and s featured on several health and fitness
DVD's selling on teh international market.
Sijey (senior
student) Janna Clarke studies martial arts under the guidance
of Temple Knights Sigung (teacher of teachers) John Peel and Sifu
(teacher) Valerie Houston-Peel. Sijey Janna specializes in Tai
Chi Chuan, Chi Kung, Meditation, and Kung Fu. She has been teaching
Tai Chi, Chi Kung, and Weapons for 8 years with the Upper Ottawa
Valley Tai Chi Club; and teaching Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Chi Kung, and
Meditation for 1 year with Temple Knights. Janna runs workshops
and teachers' training sessions for the Upper Ottawa Valley Tai
Chi Club. She also performs in demonstrations, gives presentations
for local interest groups and is available for private classes.
Janna enjoys teaching others how to nourish their body, mind, and
spirit through the martial arts. As a dedicated and highly disciplined
martial artist, Janna was drawn to the Knighthood Program in 2001.
Since then she has been sharpening her skills and building the characteristics
of a knight. She became a Novice (knight in training) in 2004 and
tests regularly for her rank promotion
